Coral Necklace

Hello Jammers! Jammie263 here!

Sorry about the last post..

don't worry I'm not going to go on about that anymore. .___.

No more delay!

The Coral Necklace is 250 gems. It is members only, at Bahari Bargains.

I agree with a few of the jammers out there who told me this:

"Animal Jam probably won't be making member items non member."

Although they did do that with member animals, that took a long time of people sending messages to them.

Animal Jam probably thinks there is already too many things for non members, and if we push it too much they may simply make everything for members only.

              Coral Reef Facts
  • Coral reefs are in crisis, dying at an alarming rate worldwide.

  • An estimated 25% of coral reefs have already disappeared and an estimated two-thirds of all coral reefs are at risk today.1

  • An estimated 88% of the reefs in Southeast Asia - the most species rich reefs on earth - are at risk.1

  • Since 1975, more than 90% of the reefs in the Florida Keys have lost their living coral cover (study by Dr. Phil Dustan).

  • Threats to the world's coral reefs include:
    • Pollution
    • Disease
    • Over-fishing
    • Dynamite and cyanide fishing
    • Sedimentation
    • Bleaching caused by rising ocean temperatures
  • Called the "rainforests of the sea," coral reefs are the greatest expression of ocean life, and the most biodiverse ecosystem on Earth with 30 of 34 known animal phyla present.

  • Unlike the rainforest, there is no comprehensive global baseline map of living coral reefs. This is urgently needed. A satellite mission dedicated to remote sensing of coral reefs can provide this critical global baseline.

I happen to of sound some great facts about Coral Reefs, 'eh? I haven't been doing those for a while— more like a few days. ^-^ (click here to see where I got this!)

See you in Jamaa!

Rare Snowman Mask

Hello Jammers! Jammie263 here!

I was very glad to get some feedback from you guys for my last post! It seems more people would like for me to talk more about the daily items, since I already have a life blog. Totally agreeing with that, so on we go!

Today's RIM (Rare Item Monday), meaning there's a...

*long awkward pause*

rare item!!!

The Rare Snowman Mask is 800 gems, members only.

You can find it at errr.. I don't actually know. I haven't been on for a while. xD

Speaking of that, I didn't even realize there had been a new news crew assignment, and that the winner has been announced!

I must admit, this article is really good! I definitely couldn't of done better even if I HAD entered!

Sorry if you guys never realized because I didn't tell you, but remember:

There are tons more assignments left!

I wonder when Animal Jam HQ will run out of ideas!

This topic seems like it's going to last pretty long.

Well, that's it Jammers! See you in Jamaa!

Old Scuba Helmet - 19,000 Views

Hello Jammers! Jammie263 here!

This is a quick post, about the daily item today!

First off, this blog now has 19,000 views! Meaning only 1 more K view (1,000) and we'll be up to 20,000... and we'll hopefully PARTY!

Now, I'm going to move on.. xP

It is 300 gems, members only at Bahari Bargains.

This item somehow makes me feel that it should go on a seals' head.

Weird right? xD

You know how animal jam made some member animals for all players? Do you think that they will do similar things for some of the member items?

Would you like that idea? Why of why not?

Sorry for all the questions... it seems that every time I ask a question, there's one following up in my mind. XD

Also, do you like me talking a lot about the item, or more about what's going on with me?

I want your opinion, so comment below!

Pilgrim Hat

Hey Jammers! Jammie263 here!

I won't be able to reply to any comments for a day or so, and that includes all my blogs. A whole lot of things have happened, and I only have a few minutes to post this before my mom or dad comes home. (my neck has a serious cramp and they don't want me using the computer unless huge emergency)

I kind of feel bad for people who traded a lot for their pilgrim hats, but I guess that's going to happen to every item at some point.

The pilgrim hat is 300 gems, members only!

I want to buy a few, because well, I don't know just because when I first started I was awed by them. x3

Good memories..

anyways, like I thought, quick post, and hopefully I'll be able to post a few things on my life blog too. ^^

Golden Dragon Mask

Heellllooo Jammerzzzz!! ^^ Sorry, Just had to do that! You can probably already tell it's me, from the fact that I am basically the only one operating this blog now.

At Epic Wonders, there is a new 'golden' item! Just saying, not getting the idea still. I mean, a gold dragon mask? Not the best choice.. little hint? TOO HEAVY.

3,000 gems for a golden dragon mask is a pretty good deal though.. especially if it were one in real life!

It is Members Only, meaning if you are a non member you will have to pay extra to get this (buy membership).

Everybody has to at some point if they want to buy these items, right?

This isn't typically about GOLDEN dragons, but I found out some really cool info about dragons themselves:

1.  Dragons are creatures from mythology that have magical powers.

2.  Many modern authors have used dragons in their stories.  J.R.R. Tolkien has Smaug in The Hobbit and J.K. Rowling intorduces dragons that challenge the characters in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

3.  Dragons are snake or reptile-like creatures that are gigantic and powerful.

4.  They can usually fly and breathe fire or ice.
 5.  They fly using large wings and their bodies are covered with scales, as is their long tales.

6.  Many dragons have red, slanted eyes.
 7.  They can be fierce or they can be kind and helpful.

8.  Depending on the culture, dragons can posses many different kinds of powers.
 9.  Dragons are very popular in China. The phoenix is a dragon that has five claws and was a symbol for the emperors in China.

10. The Latin word draco, as in the constellation Draco, comes directly from Greek drakones. The Dragon is sometimes known by the Nordic word, ormr (Old English wyrm means serpent — draca means dragon).

Yes, I know as always the facts I find are.. AWESOME! x3 Not to brag. .___. Want to find the site? (Click here!)

Well, that's it so have a great day everyone!

Glitching Up?

Hey Jammers! Jammie263 here!

First off, I'd like to say something is really going on. I'm the admin., but somehow comments are getting spammed when I didn't spam them! I read all these ones for advertisements, and they are really getting me confused.

Going along the lines of...

Wow! Great blog! Check out mine at *bla bla bla*

it usually is like a car company... which really freaks me out. I'm okay if it's a blog or something like that.

Well, onto the daily news!

The propeller is back, for 400 gems, members only!

I feel like this blog is a whole lot to handle, and nobody's helping me.

Thebeatles0042 told me just doesn't enjoy blogging about animal jam, and I'm really getting busy.

Literally, I came home from swimming team and I had 30 something comments on my life blog.

Anyways, I was thinking of doing author tryouts, but I may regret and will let down the person who is chosen.

So, see you in Jamaa, and hopefully by then I will have made my decision!

Splash and Dash

Hello Jammers! Jammie263 here!

This is just a quick post!

The Splash and Dash game is now purchasable for 400 gems! It is at Sol Arcade.

It is members only, but if you'd like to play then just go to the game itself. ._____.

Well, like I said, quick post right?

Not much to say about games...

so see you in Jamaa!

Dandelion Patch

Hi Jammers! Jammie263 here!

The Dandelion Patch is now in stores at Jam Mart Furniture!

I don't get why anyone would buy it though...

I mean, they are weeds, and you can find them everywhere in Jamaa!

I would rather go hunting for them then spend 350 gems. .____.

Well, they are members only, but guess what, non members out there!?

Go dandelion hunting with me and you won't have to pay a thing! (members are welcome too!)

Well, here are some facts about dandelions:

Here are some interesting facts about the dandelion flower:
  • The dandelion is the only flower that represents the 3 celestial bodies of the sun, moon and stars. The yellow flower resembles the sun, the puff ball resembles the moon and the dispersing seeds resemble the stars.
  • The dandelion flower opens to greet the morning and closes in the evening to go to sleep.
  • Every part of the dandelion is useful: root, leaves, flower. It can be used for food, medicine and dye for coloring.
  • Up until the 1800s people would pull grass out of their lawns to make room for dandelions and other useful “weeds” like chickweedmalva, and chamomile.
  • The average American recognizes thousands of logos for commercial products, yet recognizes fewer than five plants that grow in his/her area. Dandelions are most likely one of those familiar plants.
  • The name dandelion is taken from the French word “dent de lion” meaning lion’s tooth, referring to the coarsely-toothed leaves.
  • Dandelions have one of the longest flowering seasons of any plant.
  • Seeds are often carried as many as 5 miles from their origin!
  • A not so fun fact: Every year Americans spend millions on lawn pesticides to have uniform lawns of non-native grasses, and we use 30% of the country’s water supply to keep them green.

Want to know where I got this amazing information? (click here!)

Well, I hope you enjoyed today's daily item post! ;)

Rare Mohawk

Hello Jammers! Jammie263 here!

This blog is now up to 41 followers! Sorry, I know not a perfect number like 50 or 100 or something, but I love knowing more than 41 people read this blog. ;)

It's an amazing achievement, and I'm very thankful for all of you guys.

I'm don't want to get all tearful, so onto the rare monday item!

The rare mohawk is quite expensive, and is 900 gems. This item is more of a human item, but looks great on animals too!

Animal Jam HQ also made a post about it, and I'm guessing they are very that they didn't have to make another random post for today!

Now, a few things about the mohawk hairstyle I found from this website (click here)..

art.mohawk.gi.jpg
Recording artist Travis Barker of Blink 182 was topped by a mohawk at an event in 2005.

(1) MOHAWKS
The Style: Originally sported by warriors of various Native American tribes, the hairstyle was adopted by a squad of the U.S. Army's bad-to-the-bone 101st Airborne Division during World War II, before being commandeered by punk rockers in the 1970s.
The Story: Up until a few years ago, no one would have questioned the mohawk's roots. However, in 2003, an Irish peat harvester made a discovery that would change the hairstyle's history forever -- a 2,300-year-old corpse, remarkably well preserved by the unique chemistry of a peat bog, sporting a bonafide 'hawk.
The Shocker: The ancient Irish punker, dubbed Clonycavan Man, had gel in his hair, which archaeologists determined was made from vegetable oil mixed with a resin from southwestern France or Spain. Imported hair product? Today, scientists are still working hard to determine whether Clony was a prehistoric punker or just an Iron Age metrosexual.

Again, really cool right? I did know there was a Mohawk tribe though.

I'm really happy you guys like if I do facts like these!

I may not do them for every post though. :P

Have a fAJtastic day!

Dragonfly Wings - 18,000 Views!

Hello Jammers! Jammie263 here!

First off, I'd like to say to all of you guys that I have sad news:

Areyoukittenmeh quit! I think so at least.. she actually made a post about her password, but deleted it, and I'm not ever using her account.

Anyway, I don't know why I do know she got scammed a while ago, so maybe that's the reason.

She doesn't have any items if you search her up too, so I'm assuming she recycled them or gifted them.

She deleted me, and probably everyone else meaning I have figured out one old buddy who is no longer my buddy. (when I went online a while ago, I lost 6 buddies)

Also, this blog now has over 18,000 views! We are so close to 20,000 views, I feel like it's right in my grasp! Thanks everyone for your support, and sorry that I always say this:

You guys are awesome!

Well, onto the daily news..

As you may realize, they are from Epic Wonders. 3,000 gems is a lot, but I went into Jamaa anyways to buy it and show you guys a picture of what they looked like on an animal.

I lucked out though, because somebody I met already had them on:

Here is what they look like on the fox, but I'm guessing they look something like this one every animal too.

For the profile, the body part of the dragonfly you can see on the foxes' back, and the wings are slanted for the fox.

I hope this helps, and please if you'd like to show this on your blog too— give me credit, and hopefully a link to this blog (optional).

Some fun facts and myths I found online at this website (click here):

Facts and Myths About Dragonflies

Tons for amazing dragonfly facts in this interesting article full of facts and myths.
There are lots of fun and interesting facts about dragonflies. Some facts about dragonflies are scientifically proven facts and some are actually myths about dragonflies that have been around for as long as hundreds of years. Can you tell the difference between the myths and the facts about dragonflies?
  1. A bee flaps its wings about 300 times per second, but a dragonfly flaps its wings at only about 30 beats per second. (fact, dragonflies have two sets of wings so they don’t have to beat them as much to fly.)

  2.  A dragonfly is a very strong and good flyer, and can fly at speeds of up to 36 miles per hour. (fact, but not all dragonflies are that fast – one was clocked at this speed in Australia)
  3. Dragonflies are known as snake doctors because they can bring dead snakes back to life. (myth)

  4. There were huge dinosaur dragonflies that lived 300 million years ago. (fact – the largest fossil found had a 2 ½ foot wingspan, and currently there are dragonflies in Costa Rica that measure 7 ½ inches across the wings.)

  5. Dragonflies have huge stingers and some people are allergic to their stings and can die. (myth – the thing that looks like a stinger on a dragonfly is actually called a clasper and the male dragonfly uses it to hold onto the female when they are mating.)

  6. There are about 5,000 different species of dragonflies all over the world except in Antarctica. 450 of the species can be found in the United States and about 80 species in British Columbia. (fact, most of the 5,000 species are found in remote, tropical areas.)

  7. A dragonfly’s eyes have about 30,000 lenses and a dragonfly can see all the way around it, but they don’t see details very well. (fact, a human eye only has one lens and sees better than a dragonfly, but only to the front and side of them.)

  8. From the time a dragonfly egg hatches, it can live anywhere from six months to six years, but only about two months as an actual dragonfly. (fact, most of the time spent is as a nymph in the water before the dragonfly’s metamorphosis into a full grown dragonfly.)

  9. In the old days, dragonflies would seek out bad kids and sew their mouths together with their claspers while they slept. Dragonflies were known as the devil’s darning needles. (myth – dragonflies don’t have pockets to carry the thread to the beds of sleeping wicked children.)

  10.  A dragonfly’s scientific name is Odonta, which comes from the words “tooth-jawed” because the entomologist (insect scientist), Johann Christian Fabricius, who named them studied the dragonflies’ mouths in order to distinguish the different species. Now their wings are studied as well to classify dragonflies. (fact – other names for dragonflies around the world are water dipper in England, old glassy in China, and the ancient Celts called dragonflies big needle of wings.)

Cool right?

A lot of those I never knew, so I think it's really interesting.

Do you like the idea of me giving facts/myths like this in my posts, or a little show of what the item will look like on an animal (if not obvious)?

That's it guys, so see you later! ^^

Turkey Hat

Hey Jammers! Jammie263 here!

I'm in a really happy mood because you guys commented a lot to my last post, and definitely proved to me that I shouldn't quit this blog.

I appreciate your support a lot, and I actually knew many Jammers viewed this, just that many were 'too afraid to comment' as DoomyPanda stated it, or in my words, 'didn't find the posts interesting enough or didn't have any things to say'.

I'm really thankful for you guys. Since Thanksgiving is coming up —even though this doesn't have to do with Animal Jam— what are the thankful for?

Comment below!

Now, since I was in such a good mood and I am not so busy today, this is an earlier post that usual!

Ahh.. remember when I posted the daily news really early in the morning?

x3 Well compared to my usual time NOW it is early.

So, the turkey hat is out!

Interesting fact, (from what I know) turkey hats first came out in November, 2010.

There are now many colors of the turkey hat, although before there were only 4, the original colors:

So, that's it guys! Also, these are non member, just like before! ;)

Fruit Bowl

Hello Jammers! Jammie263 here!

Seems that there is basically only 1 JAMMER now.

Which is me. *sigh* Sorry guys, nobody even likes this blog or comments on it.

Oh well, I should really get a life and stop posting updates, way too late or not.

So yeah, quick update, not going to say much.

Yup, fruit bowl is back. Did you like the fruit bowl? I did personally, and I don't feel affected by the fact that it came back, since I don't care about it's rarity only about how I can munch on as many fruits from it as I want because they will keep coming back. x3

Anyhow, its 150 gems which if that was $150 would be way to expensive, but if you think about it..

unlimited fruits including grapes, oranges, apples, pineapple, AND decoration

sounds pretty reasonable to me! :P

It is for everyone, just like before meaning you don't have to worry about buying membership before getting it. :')

So yeah, see you guys later!

Sorry guys...; Small Update!

Hello Jammers! Jammie263 here!

Sorry for an even later post than usual.

I know I'm not helping at all by saying this, and I'm sorry if you are mad/annoyed by me.

It's just that my mom gave me a note back from mine, saying that she hoped it was just a one time thing and that she hopes I will not do it again.

I really feel guilty about it, and I'm very thankful so I don't want to be breaking anymore of her (annoying) rules.

Onto the small update:

The daily item is the homemade wings! I actually really like these, especially on bunnies.

They just remind me so much of the shamans/alphas.

The biggest thing about this update is the sea turtles! They are now for everyone, like many of you predicted. :P

I feel that Animal Jam is really trying to make everyone happy! They already turned 2 members only animals into animals for everyone! (don't worry I like that x3)

The foxes.. blah blah blah yeah we already know that. But.. there are new videos!

Wow, he sure likes to make them. xD

They are cool, maybe you should check them out.

Peck's having an art contest! I simply can't wait to see everyone's pictures!

(I probably won't enter, I'm not the best in computer art [I'm not too bad at drawing on paper though, yeah, not TOO bad.].)

Are you going to enter?

(Just saying, Peck you look... errr.. not as amazing as usual.. just saying)

Greely is the spotlight shaman for this update!

Enlarge to read it!

Yeah, isn't Greely awesome?

He looks great in this picture!

This is the new november activites!

They seem to never put them in the right order.. and never give you any hints. Dx

Well, that's it, so see you later guys

[arggghhhh...]

—and girls!

Hey Jammers! Jammie263 here!

Today's new item is..

It is very expensive, although extremely tasty looking.

2,000 gems? You've got to be kidding me.
And yes, you are correct it is at Epic Wonders.

Members only, sorry to the non members who were craving for the apple pie, pumpkin pie, pizza, jello, brownies, jelly beans, and DONUTS!

There's a new post about Rhinos at the Daily Explorer:

Wow, they've been doing a lot of plushie posts lately. x3

Crocus Flower

Hello Jammers! Jammie263 here!

The Crocus Flower is out!

Sorry for that sudden statement.. anyways..

it is 300 gems, members only, at Jam Mart Furniture!

At first I thought it said Cactus flower, and I was like "That is one bad cactus. So bad it looks like grass." x3 Anyways, here is what they look like in real life:

They look very similar right?

Anyhow, Animal Jam HQ has found a new thing to post about!

Wow.. I sure wish I was Blossom SunnyStar! Just saying, it seems Animal Jam just picks random people's dens, and when you go to the epic dens list a lot of the times people's dens are actually not as good as yours. xD

Anyways, this one looks pretty good.

I just wish they'd put one of mine there. D:

So, that's it guys!

See you in Jamaa!
